teen stars and 'those' photos- what's the big deal?
May 1st 2008 00:12
I am sure that by now we've all heard of, if not indeed seen, the photos of teen star Miley Cyrus where she's showing off her belly and her bra. I'd post some of them, but I think there are enough copies of them floating around in cyber space as it is. Well surprise surprise, Ms Cyrus has come out and apologised Saying she was "embarrassed" and that "her family and her faith will guide her through her life's journey."
Um, pardon me, but what does her faith have to do with her taking some typical teen photos? Big deal, there's a shot of her in a bathing suit and a few with her ex-boyfriend where she's lying on his lap- stop press! No one's ever posed like that and put the photos up on myspace before.
Your average Gen Yer poses like that, I'm sorry but it's true. We mess around, we take photos, we laugh about it, so why is this a 'scandal?' Why are fellow Gen Yers reading tabloid magazines and making comments about Miley or that Vanessa girl from High School Musical? Hypocrites.
And why is Miley embarrassed? Did she or did she not pose for these photos? And don't tell me she's 15 she doesn’t understand what she's doing. If you can update your myspace profile, you understand the concept of taking photos and letting them be published.
I honestly don't see the scandal here, I fail to see why people Miley's age a judging her and I don't see why she's backtracking on something that's quite commonplace. What's the point people, what's the point? Do you honestly need something to gossip about so badly you’ve taken a girl’s typical teen photos and turned them into press fodder? Go plant a tree or something.

She's young and probably wanted to know for herself what the big deal was about risque photos and now she has better information; maybe she'll cash out doing nudies when she's older; everyone else is pissed because they didn't get paid and they may loose their cash calf (she had a long ways to go before she falls into the cow range...)
