The Ways In Which We Dump Each Other
October 25th 2008 06:45
Because I'm really scrapping the bottom of the barrel for topics to blog about, I'm going to look at a cross section of the ways we've said "it's over" to one another. Some of you have shown some real class and sensitivity and others of you are complete tools and I wouldn't come near you with a 10 foot pole.
It seems a lot of you insensitive twits have a thing for texting and IM-ing to your partners to let them know they're now officially single. Like what, you're too busy to meet up and tell them to their face? Or maybe the relationship never meant enough for you to give it that much attention. Or hell, maybe you're just so desensitised from all the violence you see on TV and in games that you can't see the emotional damage your chosen modus operandi might have. I say ‘might’ because if your partner is as uninvolved in the relationship as you are, it may not hurt them at all to know they're no longer yours and you're no longer theirs- they may not even notice.
Others among you are so socially retarded that you just disappear. No calls, no follow ups- you just go bye byes never to be heard form again. This leads to a toss up between knowing if you're not interested in seeing that person again or if you need a missing person report filed on your behalf. Well, chances are your ex doesn’t think you’re worth the paper work so they'll just take the former option.
But not all is lost, it seems some of you are in possession of common sense; you actually inform your soon to be ex that you do not wish to be in the relationship any more You let them know that you feel that the two of you do not have compatible personalities/goal/values and you wish that person a happy life but you do not feel it is a life you can share on such a level.
Now there, that wasn't so bloody hard! Keep this post in mind the next time you go reaching for your phone. Just because we live in the digital age is no reason for you flat-put stop showing a little human decency.

Btw. I wont be reading your posts again.
Just joking. I'll get someone else to tell you that.
