Generation Y has no trademark

What's that, Generation Y has no trademark? Wynona please, pull you head in; we have Harry Potter and the internet. No my dear reader I disagree, I think the 21st century can claim trademark over Harry Potter and the internet as they are going to play prominent roles in the lives of many to come. While Gen Y may benefit from and rely deeply on these 2 post-modern creations, this benefit and dependency will not stop with us.
The point I was trying to make was more fashion related; the 60's had hippies, the 70's were all about plastic fantastic, the 80's screamed retro, the 90's were plagued with high wasted pants... and then hipsters so I'm a little confused, and then there's us- Generation Rip Off. Far from having a distinct look, we've butchered the classics.
Skinny jeans anyone? Well all of us by the looks of it and let's team that with a band T-shirt. Oh look at that, we've traveled back to the 80's and plundered some poor civilian's wardrobe. Need some accessories? Let's forage through various stores for bangles and shoes that scream with 70's Technicolor.
If the above doesn’t do it for you, I wonder if you remember Erkle? (I also wonder if I spelt that correctly)
What I'm referring to are high wasted pants ladies and gentlemen but more specifically the fact that they're back. *shivers* Still, regardless of whether I like 'em or not they seem to have glued themselves onto my peers... I suppose that's there's 00's twist.
And if all this talk of heavy fabric and covering up with bangles is making you hot, I think it's time you re-visit the boho look and prance around in a maxi dress (big flowy dress up to one's ankles that it usually sleeveless) or a cocktail dress from the 50's.
So Generation Y, when future Homo sapiens cast their thought back to the days of yore and look to emulate a previous look, I wonder, are they going to miss a generation?
