Today's youth will be tomorrow's ******** (read this and find out)

According to my sources, public service is the place to go. No sign of it raining men though, humph! *pouts*
No really, I've noticed quite a trend among a fair number of our school graduates of wanting to get into nursing, teaching or policing. Seriously, they're everywhere! Okay so I've just made it sound like a rodent invasion- that was totally not my intention. It's just that I expected a smattering of careers to be sought after but there seems to be quite a focus on the public service sector. How very responsible of us. All the stories on TV these last few years about understaffed schools and hospitals may finally let up once these batches of do-gooders get out into the work force.
Alright, so what else are today's teens/young adults interested in becoming?
I had 2 young ladies indicate they would like to be specialists, namely a paediatrican and a gynaecologist. So not only are we going to have more general hospital staff, we won't have to travel as far to reach the growing number of specialists that'll be springing up to accommodate us. Well done girls.
Another area that's set to be infused with the enthusiasm of Gen Y is science. Yes, certainly this includes medical science but it is broader than that; if you can call it scientific, some young kid is looking to stake their claim in it. Science goes hand in hand with technology, and technology is the greatest contributing factor to social advance, therefore, it is my prediction that we will see an even more fast-paced society with even greater developments and efficiency as more of today's life forms get into the business of shaping the world of tomorrow's life forms.
Another area that looks like its set for an injection of Generation Y is that of the environment.
Be it volunteering or getting a degree in environmental science (told you they had a finger in every scientific pie), it seems this group of specimens want to give Mother Earth a helping hand. Politicians are using the environment as an election campaign tool now, but it seems tomorrow's leaders have a genuine interest in it and are integrating environmental awareness into their lives as we speak. Who knows, they might even find ways to make it part of the companies they'll be running. What am I saying, of course they will- they're Generation Y. Wait, what the Hell am I saying? I'm part of Generation Y. Okay, and on that note, this blogger is gonna go lie down and collect her brains. Sweet dreams my lovelies.
