Warning- Blogging Will Ruin You
November 17th 2008 04:28
Hello my fellow social commentators, I'm happy to see you've survived the carnage- for now. It seems there is an enemy that lurks in the shadows which seeks to dismantle our numbers and suppress our online thought sharing. This enemy (as yet) has no certain modus operandi and presents itself as a shape shifter, attacking us from all angles and in all forms. What we do know, however, is that the enemy seeks to lower our quality of life anyway it can. For example;
Take Joyce Park and her blog Troutgirl- she made a whole 3 posts about her employer, social networking organisation Friendster and it was goodbye employment!. Why? No idea, Friendster does not comment about employee matters.
Oh and, are we all aware of Mike Cherico who was a blogger for Glamour Mag but lost this position due to his womanizing ways? Basically he was supposed to write about sex a dating in an attempt to get a 'lively debate' about men and dating going. This didn't happen and he had to be fired due to the backlash from angered readers- woops. For further details, click here. It appears that even if you're hired to blog honestly about your life, there are occasions when censorship is advised.
It also appears that the enemy of us bloggers also takes the form of the Green Eyed Monster. Krishna Dhungana, who used to write for Newspaper Magazine Naya Patrika was told not to come into work any more for daring to share his creativity with blog site My sensor. No, not sharing confidential information with this site, simply writing for them. Daring to not give his employer full monopoly of his talent. Look, I've got a source for this information and everything.
Be careful my brother in keystrokes, be very careful.
