Generation Y is not amused by the following;

Stereotypes.
The moreintelligent tolerant members of the 15 year span known as Generation Y would like to express their disdain at being scene or sexuality pigeonholed based on their appearance and mannerisms. They wish to point out that a penchant towards a certain colour does not denote their musical interests and showing their friends affection does not automatically reflect their sexual orientation. Generation Y wish to point out that they are multifaceted and that if you administer labels on sight there is great possibility that you are administering labels incorrectly. Just when did we become soup cans anyway?
Generation Y also take offence to/with geographic prejudices and wish to inform you that the cause for a reputation an area sustained over 20 years ago may well have morphed during the segue. One survey participant provided the example of their university; because it mentions its location in its name, this particular university is looked down upon- there is the perception that its educational offerings are inferior in comparison to universities located elsewhere. What everyone will be shocked to discover is that this 'inferior' university has Australia's second largest collection of online databases- it is surpassed only by the University of Queensland. If there is egg on your face, use this university’s defamatory reputation to wipe it off.
What else to Generation Y have a bone to pick with? Intolerance. If something is not hurting you, the majority of Generation Y would kindly ask you to shut your face and let it be. Homophobia? Just because someone is homosexual does not mean they are automatically attracted to you- if this is how you think, chances areyou're not that great. If someone is of a different ethnicity and/or religion to you, perhaps you could learn about a different culture form them. If you are not interested and they are not seeking to impose their ways on you, perhaps you could do the same and leave them alone. You don't have to agree, but you don't have to take it outside either.
Generation Y want to progress and lead full, happy lives. They (in general) are looking to make connections that will help them rather than pick a fight over differences. They are aware that there are some weeds in the garden and they are working to remove these. They ask that you do not spray fertiliser on the weeds while the urging is in process.
